CSIS is proud to partner with the World Affairs Council of Atlanta, CARE USA, and the Carter Center to co-host the 9th annual Atlanta Global Health Summit, The Race to Beat Covid-19, on June 1-3.

The Summit will address the rapid, cascading impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, including the acceleration of food insecurity; an unprecedented global vaccine crisis that threatens to perpetuate economic decline and disrupt health services in low- and middle-income countries; and an intensifying international debate on critical reforms needed to manage the current crisis amid heightened nationalism and geopolitical tension.

The Summit will feature remarks from senior officials from the Biden administration and other renowned experts:

  • Rochelle Walensky, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention;
  • Gayle Smith, State Department Coordinator for Global Covid Response and Health Security;
  • Ramanan Laxminarayan, Founder and Director of the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy;
  • Dame Sally Davies, U.K. Special Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance and Master of Trinity College, Cambridge University.

Four CSIS-affiliated experts will bring their expertise to the Summit's discussions:
